Final return

Things are starting to take shape , meetings lined up for my diversity workshop program … Excited little chap right now !

I haven’t posted for SO LONG , mainly from being ridiculously busy with work and moving back into my house.

I managed to get up to Brick lane over the weekend  for one of my projects and saw some AMAZING street art which has inspired one of my next shoots!

Here is some of the imagery bellow:

Working in retail really does take up your WHOLE life so this weekend I am going to make the most of my first weekend off in 3 months and go and visit the ARTDRIVE!

It has been on since the 21st of August and is a collection of BMW’s completely transformed by international artists. I can wait to go and have a look as it something completely different to what you would normally see. –> you can find out more information here and the best thing about the event is that its FREE !!!

Will post pictures as soon as I’ve been

So I’m back from Turkey and Haven’t done a post in what feels like forever  so here it goes!

After cooking my skin like a crazy lady for 10 days straight in 40 degrees I still do not want to be  in England.

The rain is far more depressing than when I left so I have decided to reminisce on my holiday and the fantastic culture to lift my holiday blues!!!

The bright colours ,sandy beaches and clear seas have all inspired me to mix up my wardrobe and treat myself to some bright /standout accessories which can liven up this grey British weather.

I’ve been looking at highstreet collections as well as designers to see what stands out to me:

Tatty Devine is exactly what I’m looking for at the moment and their new range of necklaces (The anchor in tortoise shell) are perfect to JAZZ UP whats left of our summer.     The Water melon choker necklace reminds me of those hot nights when we would just chill out with a cocktail and some fruit. Both necklaces could be teamed with anything and be worn in the evening or during the day. I would personally wear them both with quite simply outfits(white blouse, jeans combo) and then SPICE IT UP with a BRIGHTpair of highheels and contrasting clutch.

The Colour Hunter

Following up to my last post from the AIU graduate show I was lucky enough to talk to Katie Beglan a Fashion Marketing student from the university who voiced her concept of a new way of shopping to me.

Her idea was to base the shopping experience around colour and to look deeper into the meanings behind what certain colours do to us. I found the whole idea very interesting so began to ask her a few questions as to why this idea would work.

One of my questions was what would customers get from their experience in the boutique?

Beglan’s response was : Customers would be able to come into store and know that they would be coming away with something which complimented and suited them perfectly. upon arrival to the store customers will be consulted on what colour group best suits them and then shown to the area where they are best suited to shop (i.e.Blue,green,red).

The whole idea makes the shopping experience a lot less stressful and I feel would be something which could really take of in the future.

We all need a bit of stress free shopping and I sure as hell want to walk in to a store and know I’m going to look amazing in everything in the room … We would all feel like princesses!

AIU graduate show

This post has been way overdue  due to busy work loads but a few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to be part of the press team at AIU’s graduate show (American Intercontinental University of London)

The talent was beyond incredible with new designers and artists showing their collections for the first time in front of an audience full of Fashion lovers, Art lovers and Free champagne lovers!

There was a lot of :

  •  Metallic’s
  •  Leathers
  • Draped materials
  • African print
  • Monochrome
  • Layering
  • and
  •  Exaggerated men’s wear.
By far my favourite designers (who WILL go on to great things) were Gianni Escalera, Mukungwe Leck  and Yvonne Abena

Muckungwe Leck

Here is some imagery of their FANTASTIC work…

Yvonne Abena

Gianni Escalera

I love that African print is making its way into mainstream fashion as it is a look which can be worn effortlessly and instantly adds interest to what could be a plain outfit. Designer Yvonne Abena done this amazingly well and has definitely made me a print convert for autumn/winter 12

The overall evening was fantastically thought out and a massive thank you to the production team who worked hard to make the event run smoothly and professionally.

I will be looking out for the designers involved in the show in the near future and cannot wait to see what they bring to the fashion industry next !

Behind the scenes of IRONIK

Yesterday I was lucky enough to style on the first set of IRONIKS SOULMATE VIDEO, the experiance was AMAZING and really gave me a boost of confidence in this being the right avenue for my career. We shot from 11am to 8.30pm and by the end of the day people were begining to fall asleep standing up!

The whole team pulled together really well so a BIG thanks to the production, the talent, the models and the runners for helping to get everything done to the level needed before the end of the day!

Heres a selection of images from behind the scenes on the day
