This post has been way overdue due to busy work loads but a few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to be part of the press team at AIU’s graduate show (American Intercontinental University of London)
The talent was beyond incredible with new designers and artists showing their collections for the first time in front of an audience full of Fashion lovers, Art lovers and Free champagne lovers!
There was a lot of :
- Metallic’s
- Leathers
- Draped materials
- African print
- Monochrome
- Layering
- and
- Exaggerated men’s wear.
I love that African print is making its way into mainstream fashion as it is a look which can be worn effortlessly and instantly adds interest to what could be a plain outfit. Designer Yvonne Abena done this amazingly well and has definitely made me a print convert for autumn/winter 12
The overall evening was fantastically thought out and a massive thank you to the production team who worked hard to make the event run smoothly and professionally.
I will be looking out for the designers involved in the show in the near future and cannot wait to see what they bring to the fashion industry next !
